Mr Ixer

'Yes, agreed, Ivonne. I'm holding back on this as obviously there's significant dis- and mis-information but I sometimes feel the tone of some pro Israeli comments is actually losing them the PR battle? Dunno, it's a mess. Perhaps, I'm misreading it?'

I am making an assumption that this comment refers to me.

Fair dos.

You can say what you like about me.

But I happen to think that Israel is under constant attack, not only from Palestinian terrorists (who instigated a pogrom and still hold Israeli hostages don't forget) but also the media (particularly the Guardian), ignorant ranting pop stars at 'music festivals' of all places, and from many on this Forum.

A bit more than your dismissive 'mess' I would suggest.

I confess this makes me angry.

I see Israel as the only glimmer of western civilisation surrounded by Islamic deserts of antisemitism.

By western I mean democratic, possessing the right to freedom of speech and opinion, governed by the rule of law and economically viable, innovative and creative.

Its opponents can be described by none of these terms.

It is also our country's ally.

So I will continue to defend Israel and point out the hypocrisies of those that despise them.

I am not waging a 'PR battle' and if you see the whole situation in such trivial terms so be it.

Israel will not be effected by what I post on this Forum.

But the responses reveal much about the bourgeoisie of West Putney.
