Well our lack of progress with dealing with the leakiest buildings in Europe has not left us in a very good position with such high energy prices has it? Our Victorian forefathers had very large families but many of us have learnt how not to have such large families now and choose not to. Roe-v-Wade is a backward step and surely planning and contraception is preferable. Many of those Victorian children did not make it past childhood as there wasn't the medical care that most of us in the western world can access nowadays. Many mothers would choose not to have so many children but to see the ones they have grow up instead of dying of disease and poverty. Cutting overseas aid doesn't help in that respect. There will always be some disasters and wars. As well as those large families, there are also a lot of young people who have chosen not to have children. |
