I wonder if a significant proportion or segments of people (perhaps younger ones) don't either follow the news or source it via social media which can itself be selective based on one's views/biases? So perhaps the message isn't getting the message? And do all the messages relate to younger people? The Queen's message was on the whole good but does the "we'll meet again" tone resonate with the current "generation-x, -y, -z"s, or whatever? Those of us born in the late 40s, 50s, 60s even though we didn't live through it probably were indoctrinated with the WWII ideology but when a significant proportion of youngsters have doubts about whether the Holocaust or even the moon landings took place (so I'm told) have they got a clue about Veda Lynn? I may be wrong, just askin'? I mean, if people believe that 5G spreads viruses or on YouTube vaccines might contain microchips ...
