| A positive development. The Putney SW15.com website writes a story, as does the Third Sector. When these publications ask for a comment from the WPCC, nobody is available. No surprise there and no surprise that there is nothing on the WPCC website about this dramatic intervention by the Charity Commission - which hasn't yet even concluded its Statutory Inquiry. With regard to the Daniel Watney valuation (that's the one that the charity commissioned at vast expense last year and has kept locked away, not even daring to show it to some trustees), we have confirmation what most already knew: the Third Sector article confirms that their "third valuation concluded that that the easement was granted "at a significant undervalue"". There it is, in black and white. But things get even worse: the article then confirms that the charity - despite confirmation of the significant undervalue - chose not to do anything to try to recoup the loss. And tried to deny there was a loss. The loss must of course be recouped and those responsible for incurring it (and breaching charity law in the process) must be held to account, finally. Well done John for tenaciously pursuing the matter in the face of the most shocking and vicious onslaught from some of the conflicted trustees and others at the charity. I hope the first thing the Commission-appointed lawyer does is reinstate you. |
