Apparently the email reminders are sent but they end up in the spam folder. I have no evidence that the council actually do send them. I was issued with three parking tickets on my car between the date I applied for a renewal on line and receiving the permit. I wrote to Justine Greening and copied it to the council suggesting that Wandsworth residents with cars are seen as cash-cows for the council. I was promised that two of the parking tickets will be refunded as they were for the same 'violation'. This is a better outcome than I expected as mostly letters to the council, are dismissed out of hand. Copying to Justine made them take it more seriously. It still does not answer why the council does not have the facility to check whether a car has had a permit renewed (since I paid by debit card and the council had my money). It is now possible with vehicle licenses in that they do not have to be displayed. |
