Oh! Ok so they ran back up the High Street towards the URR & then went thru your bag down one of the alleys between the shops.

I must say you've been very brave through out this ordeal. And as you say at least the bag was returned with important stuff like house keys inside.

Such a shame when we lose personel items. The part about keeping keys seperate when possible is sound.

As you said the event happens so quickly one doesn't get a chance to identify the culprits.

Those anti mugger aerosols that emit a loud noise can be effective. Especially if you let them off right up against their ears, it gives one time to get away.

But one needs a bit of warning. I remember getting Happy Slapped from a set of youths who followed me off the bus.
So I now look behind to see who gets off the bus when I alite. Plus checking behind me before turning into a street.

If people are suspicious about any person or group of people stay by the edge of the pavement on a main road road where cars can see what's going on. Or knock on somebodys door if one is on a quiet street.

Muggers are more likely to leave one alone if there are plenty of witnesses. Stay safe Elaine.

I know it's a crime hotspot because the Police showed a map of putney where crimes reported were ilustrated with dots.
I.E. the lower end of the High street is one place & the corner of Dover Hse Rd along the URR another.
It was a Safer Neighborhood meeting.

The Alleyway is possibly called Cardinal Plce it comes out onto Charlwood Rd just before Chelverton. The reason I asked was to establish in which direction the miscreants went.

Y'all have a good day
and let us all pray
that those who do prey
will not come our way
