| 27 April this year (Sky, BBC) "Why is it taking so long?" "There have been long delays in trials for years in the UK, particularly in England and Wales. As of late 2025, the criminal court system is facing a record backlog, with some serious criminal cases listed for trial in 2029 or 2030, meaning victims and suspects can wait years for justice." |
