Mr Boyce 'Machado, 58, was hailed by the Nobel Committee as "one of the most extraordinary examples of civilian courage in Latin America in recent times". She has campaigned against Venezuela's President Nicolás Maduro Moros, whose 12-year rule is viewed by many as illegitimate.' Wiki - 'The politics of Venezuela are conducted under what is nominally a federal presidential republic, but is in practice an authoritarian system of government.' I wonder why it is that Venezuela and its President do not receive anything like the flak and opprobrium that Israel and its democratically elected PM Netanyahu do ? As for the Donald ? His timing was out, though it has to be said that he has shifted the ground in the Middle East crisis showing that firm action or threat thereof is more effective than all manner of hand wringing from Kier Starmer and anti-Israel protest marches in London. Not that the fellow travelling leftist anti-Israel protesters on the streets today would acknowledge it. Guess they are concerned they will have nothing to do on a Saturday. Bit like football supporters feel at the end of the season ! |
