Ms Bond 'Our world has become smaller as people move from place to place and families are spread all over the world:' The problem is that, as regards the UK, too many immigrants have moved from parts of the world that have a heritage, culture, a belief system and to some extent religion, that are alien to ours. And rather than adapt to our way of life they try to change it - often violently and lethally. Jihad al-Shamie is the latest in a grim roll call of first or second-generation immigrants to be welcomed to Britain only to repay that welcome with carnage. The terrorists who slaughtered eight people on London Bridge in 2017 were migrants from Pakistan and Morocco. The Libyan national who stabbed three men to death in Reading in 2020 was granted asylum in Britain after fighting for a terrorist group. Three of the 7/7 terrorists were the children of Pakistani immigrants and one had migrated to the UK as a child. Lee Rigby’s killers were the children of Nigerian immigrants. The Manchester Arena bombers were the offspring of Libyan refugees. David Amess’s murderer was the son of Somali migrants. The only group of immigrants that have not behaved in this way and have made a positive contribution to our culture and economy are of course the Jews, many of whom are now in fear of their lives. Hence the irony of antipathy or worse accorded to Jews and sympathy towards Muslim Arabs who apart from the doner kabab seem to have contributed little. |
