| Very much part of Putney history, On November 7 1943 my dear friend George Rough(RIP) left the Cinderella Ballroom to have a farewell drink with some sailor mates in The White Lion. While there the bomb dropped and he lost his fiance. He later married a girl who had lost her man at Dunkirk. I remember its last Australian phase when it did stand up in the cellar. |
