| Early Years Programme Manager Learn to Love to Read is a local charity that supports children who are finding learning to read challenging or who are at risk of starting school poorly prepared for learning to read. We are looking for a self-motivated, energetic and passionate individual for this position. The successful candidate will work closely with the Director to deliver and develop our Early Years offer to families. This is a largely term-time position (15-20 hours a week for 39 weeks per year) with limited flexible hours during the holidays to be agreed. We work in partnership with local primary schools, nurseries, children’s centres and other charities. We train and provide reading volunteers to our partner schools; increase parents’ confidence and skills in supporting their children’s reading through talks, workshops and events; and deliver sets of Early Years classes for parents and their children in venues across Wandsworth and online. We are looking to recruit an Early Years Programme Manager: 15-20 hours per week during school term, plus limited flexible hours during school holidays Must be available to deliver Early Years classes at schools for a 9am start at least twice a week (days will vary each half term) but flexibility with working hours beyond that Mainly home-based role (must live in or very close to the borough of Wandsworth) Must hold a driver’s licence and have access to a car as classes will be delivered across Wandsworth, including Tooting, Southfields, Battersea and Roehampton Annual salary of full-time equivalent £30,576 (pro rata for this part time role) The Early Years Programme Manager will be responsible for planning, resourcing, delivering and evaluating Early Years classes, both face-to-face and online. The role also includes developing and implementing ongoing messaging and summer holiday initiatives as well as building and maintaining relationships with suitable local partners and referring professionals. Role requirements A passion for helping children learn to love to read and flexibility to adapt to the needs of a small organisation are essential. Candidates will need to have the confidence to develop and deliver Early Years classes in a range of settings and the efficiency and eye for detail to manage existing activities. Candidates must have experience of using a full range of IT programmes, including Google Suite and Microsoft Office. The ability to engage comfortably with a range of people, including children, parents, local professionals and partners, is important. Candidates must be able to work independently as the role is predominantly home-based, though there will be some regular in-person activities.
