At the Safer Neighbourhoods Team public meeting last night we were told that the recent legislation, which strengthens the measures that can be taken against squatters, does not apply in this case as the premises are industrial rather than residential. However the owners are going to Court today to start the process under the previous legislation, which will, eventually, result in the squatters being evicted. Meanwhile the Police are keeping a close eye on the place and have issued several warnings about noise etc. |
