| Beware the annual'dustman' Christmas box scam. On Friday evening ( in the dark ) two men purporting to be from our local refuse collection team were knocking on doors in Clarendon Drive SW15 and asking for contributions to their Christmas box - 'rather than disturb you early in the morning of the dustvan'!! I was not suckered ( such soliciting was forbidden some years ago in Wandsworth) but I suspect many were. Needless to say when I checked with the team itself the next morning they confirmed that it was indeed a scam - one that seems to be repeated annually. I am afraid our memories are too short. |
