Updated “ Update, Tuesday 15 September, 1.45pm: The Friends of Wandsworth Park have told supporters that Enable has now withdrawn this application. In an email sent at lunchtime, the group said it had been “working behind the scenes to get it reviewed from the higher ups”, that it had convinced parks management of its position, and that management “have requested that the planning applications bewithdrawn”. We have asked Enable and the council’s planning department to confirm that. Neither has yet. The council’s planning portal still shows 2026/2978 as registered and open for comments, so until a withdrawal appears on the council’s own record the application stands and objections still count. Fifty-nine readers have copied us on objections sent this morning and are still receiving responses from the council. If you are emailing an objection today, put your full name and home address in it, or it will not be registered. We will update this story when Enable or the council responds.”
