The Hamas Charter of 1988 advocated the murder of every Jew: 'The Day of Judgement will not come about until Muslims fight the Jews (killing the Jews)when the Jew will hide behind stones abd trees. The stones and trees will say, O Muslims, O Abdullah, there is a Jew behind me, come and kill him.' Following international condemnation of the explicit antisemitism of the original Charter, in 2017 Hamas issued a revised version without actually withdrawing the previous one. The new Charter explains that Hamas' fight is not with Jews but with Zionists, calling for the establishment of a Palestinian state within Gaza and the West Bank as a first step to the 'complete liberation of Palestine from the river to the sea'  that is to say, the destruction of the State of Israel. The fact that the revised Charter is merely a cosmetic effort to hide Hamas' murderous ideology is illustrated by the massacre of October 7 when Hamas engaged in a campaign of rape, torture, murder and desecration of the dead.
