Annihilation might have been past the limit of what Trump has threatened (he does keep flip-flopping on what he's planning to do!) but some of what suggested would have serious consequences on Iranian civilians. In previous statements of his, the US had apparently destroyed Iran's nuclear capability. More of his lies or imagination. No, Iran shouldn't have nuclear weapons (in a sane world, no country would have them!) but are the really now capable of using the material they've processed? Further attacks on their production sites might be reasonable, a blanket attack on civilisation infrastructure and its effect on the who a population who don't support their own government, would surely not be? Still, I suppose a shortage of aviation and other oil based fuels is a positive point for global warming? And an incentive to invest in renewable energy sources? |
