| Not sure of the answer here so seeking guidance. If a person earning say ,£2000, a month also claims benefits (quite legally) do they get taxed on TOTAL income or is the benefit element tax free and so they only get taxed on earnt income. Unlike a pensioner whose state pension (benefit) is taxed if they happen to have another private pension ie its all counted as total income for taxation purposes. |
