The world wide trafficking of drugs is perhaps as bad for us all as the trafficking of illegal immigrants.

Trump seems to have reduced the number of illegal border crossers by imaginative and rigorous actions and so perhaps taking the same attitude towards drug smuggling which could also destabilise US society is no bad thing.

The world is a very unstable and frightening place at the moment and so perhaps some 'firm hand' practical diplomacy is no bad thing.

And doubtless the Venezuelan drug smugglers will not be much missed.

The days of Starmeresque hand wringing as performed regarding the Middle East war are perhaps over.
