| You are in effect mitigating Vylan’s offence from one of racism to one of tastelessness. Chanting ‘From the river to the sea’ is not just tasteless but racist since it denies Israel’s right to exist. That is very different from being critical of Israel’s policies, which is perfectly legitimate. As for your defence of the libel that Israel is engaged in genocide (for which neither you nor anyone else has provided any evidence) by saying that the ICJ has not yet ruled definitively on whether genocide is occurring, on that basis I could accuse you of a heinous crime and justify the libel on the grounds that so far no judge has acquitted you. |
