Doesn't the «MAD» concept, as defined during the cold war, apply to Iran and Israel? Iran must be aware that Israel has superior air power to overwhelm its defences, coupled with superior intelligence. After all, it wasn't Iran that kicked off the recent spat. The US seemed to be in diplomatic negotiations before Netanyahu trashed those by initiating a strike on Iran; it's also interesting that the Iranian retaliation against the US ban in Qatar seemed to be a token measure, presumably for internal PR purposes. Just my reading of things; there is, of course, so much mis/dis-information that it's difficult to tell ... |
