"If only there was another way of getting from a to b. But wait, there’s walking, cycling, buses (in the same jam of course unless those drivers leave the car behind and get on a bus), then there’s tubes and trains too." Travelling by train late morning the other day, took over a hour to get to Waterloo. The bus took almost that time yesterday apparently to get down the high street and over the bridge. Walking and cycling yes but I suspect public transport will continue to deteriorate. With some bus routes taking two hours for a few miles, those huge double decker buses could be converted to Harry Potter buses with beds on the upper deck perhaps? Transport plans are just not radical enough we basically have a system that has changed little since the war! With many people working from home, if you can't get to London's attractions there will be little point in people staying in London, which will only add to he Exodus. |
