Personally I would lose too much sleep over an asteroid event. It would have a high impact, even cataclysmic, effect but is of a fairly low likelihood. True not zero risk which is why NASA in collaboration with ESA and other agencies has initiated the DART mission to test whether such objects can be successfully deflected, and China has initiated a similar project of its own:

However, a more likely occurrence is a large meteor such as the one over Chelyabinsk, Russia in 2013:

If it had occurred over, say, a large city like New York or London significantly more damage and casualties would have occurred. Even so, such events are rare and even when they occur the populated proportion of the earth is relatively small compared with the area of its surface containing water, or uninhabited or sparsely populated areas so it's probable that the impact will still be small.

On the other hand, climate change is happening: temperatures and greenhouse gas levels are rising, one in a hundred or thousand year climate events are happening more frequently, polar ice caps are melting … do we need more warning signs that action is needed? The signs indicate that global warming has a probability of "1" if mitigating action isn't taken.

Anyway, I think Matt dressing as a strawberry has more to do with the raising awasrenesd of the environmental damage caused by single use plastics, another issue, rather than any effect on global warming? I wouldn't mock Matt for highlighting those issues. Perhaps we won't be affected too much by these but the following generations will be. At least something can be done about it if action is taken now unlike a large meteor or asteroid event!
