I was reading recently about somewhere where banking was being offered in a building by a mixture of staff from different banks - just so that there was a facility in the town. It is harder in the country where there may be no banks in a town at all.
So many bank and building society branches have closed or are closing, together with post offices. Apparently many more people went online during lockdown and it is making it a lot more difficult for those who are not doing their banking online and prefer to do it in person. |
