We've nearly finished a 2kg pack of green lentils. I love green lentils but I never want to see another 2kg pack of them. It has taken us over a year!
Dried peas, beans and lentils go much further than the tinned ones and are cheaper. Although it looks as though they will keep for ever, if you keep them too long they don't go soft when you cook them - so if anyone has a solution please let me know!
You have to work out which ones you don't have soak overnight and which ones you MUST boil fast for 10 minutes before putting in the slow cooker/simmering. |
