Ivonne, it is one of the great urban myths that speed cameras are just revenue generating devices. Firstly the only people caught are actual lawbreakers, secondly they are bright dayglo yellow so you really can’t miss them.

As I understand it fines from all moving traffic offences go directly to the treasury not to TfL or local councils. Parking ticket revenues stay local however.
