Yes - I wrote to her last week regarding the disgraceful continuation of night-flights into Heathrow and within days had this prompt, reasoned and pertinent reply within days. Seems pretty efficient and switched-on to me- ___________ Dear Tim,  Thank you for contacting me about the issue of night flights.  Living in the area I completely understand the nuisance of planes constantly flying over and causing a disturbance at night, and I have been active in opposing the increasing night flights proposed by Heathrow. It is really frustrating that there are so few flights now and yet that some of these are at 4.30am.  There are night-time rules which apply from 23:00 until 06:00. There is also a ‘shoulder period’ at either end of the night, with slightly less strict rules – that is 23:00-23:30 and 06:00-07:00. As I am sure you know, from 23.30-06:00, the rules allow for a limited number of flights and a limited amount of noise over the whole summer or winter season. The number of flights is based on a points or ‘quota’ system relating to each plane’s noise levels. During the night the noisiest types of planes are not permitted to be scheduled.  I will write to the Secretary of State for Transport to raise your concerns regarding this issue and on behalf of the many Putney residents who suffer similar sleep deprivation.
