Probably I would not. Although perhaps I might have been convinced by argument over time, if the result were similarly close. But, in my alternative universe, the majority would have needed to be a two-thirds majority, in order to validate such massive change and disruption. The change would also need to demonstrate massive potential improvements. Interestingly, for much of the lead-up to the referendum, I was arguing quite strongly against aspects of the EU. Oh dear. Fortunately I don't think that I convinced anybody. |
