In July 1981, 8 year old Vishal Mehrotra was walking home in Putney after watching the wedding of Lady Diana and the Prince of Wales. He disappeared and his body was found over a year later in marshland in Sussex. I hadn't heard of this case until it was raised on the radio by Nick Clegg who presumably became aware of it due to his connections in the area.
Vishal's father, Vishamber, a retired magistrate received a phone call from a male prostitute who told him that his son may have been snatched by a paedophile ring and taken to the now notorious Elm Guest House in Barnes. Mr. Mehrotra passed a tape of the conversation to the police but they declined to investigate saying it was a crank call as senior politicians and judges were alleged to be connected with the abduction. Mr. Mehrotra believes there was a cover up and MP Tom Watson is asking for the evidence, if it still exists, to be looked at again.
Another MP, Simon Danczuk, who helped expose the activities of Cyril Smith has said that he may raise the issue in parliament |
