| I've been really pleased recently to see police officers walking around Putney High Street. In Putney and Wimbledon combined this year alone I've seen 4 robberies from shops where the security guards have been unable to do anything. Hopefully the visual deterrent is deliberate and not just officers popping from their desk for lunch - although that's fine too as the same outcome and hopefully they will do it more. Of all the proposed changed to law and order I'm convinced that putting officers back on the beat gives the most bang for the buck and ticks so many boxes from safety to community relations via cutting crime. |
