Hi all Ealing Council declared a Climate Emergency last year. It's now produced a draft plan for how to deal with this locally. It needs the voices of local people to make it happen, and make it workable. Unlike low traffic neighbourhoods there is a chance to have your say before anything changes. So if you know about schools, or trees, or how to use solar energy, or cycle routes, or anything related-- make your views known. It's open until 27th September. Here's the link: https://tinyurl.com/y4pxf8vt Disclaimer! I'm a green party member and we've come up with some key messages, but - but this is not about party politics, it's about everyone being involved:- - Ealing Council needs to be more ambitious in all of its targets to achieve the aim of becoming carbon neutral by 2030. - SMART (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time-bound) targets have to be set for each of the key areas, and responsibilities have to be assigned - The methodologies and standards that Ealing Council will use to monitor their progress must be publicly stated. This must include a clear baseline reference year to compare performance against. |
